I made it!!!!!

"I'm sorry, but you won't be able to board this flight..." WHAT?!!!!!  Seriously, that's what the lady at Qantas told me bright and early at 6:30 am when the counter opened for my 8:50 am flight.  I'm like, but I have a seat and the plane is at LAX...?  So, it turns out, Qantas failed to tell Vayama (the ticket seller) that they only allow people who are making connections from Sydney onto this flight...which meant, no me.  I had been having a gnawing feeling in my stomach all week that there would be a glitch somewhere in my travel to Romania but this was a huge glitch from the very get go.  Panicking, I went over to American to try to purchase another flight, but that line was soooo long.  The guy who worked the line was so mean, too.  He's like " Sorry, it's your fault for getting here late, everyone is in the same shoes you are in, you're never going to make it onto an 8:30 am flight..."  ( I can now see whay LA was voted the rudest city in a poll taken by Travel and Leisure magazine) Well, it turns out Vayama people were able to get me onto a 8:30 flight and it was all smooth sailing from there.

My flight from JFK to Paris rocked!!!  I was on a new Airbus380 plane, with pretty much the entire area to myself, and they served champagne, wine, cognac, whatever you want.  Their veggie meal was awesome, didn't taste like airplane food.  Thank goodness for this flight to help me recover from the morning chaos.  All the rest of my connections went so smoothly, I was so grateful.  I made it to Bucharest in time to get picked up and meet my fellow teammates.  There are 5 of us, but apparently 1 girl is still stuck in Barcelona due to flight connection issues.  So, after 3 flights, and a 5 hour drive from the Bucharest airport to Tutova-with a short stop at Mcdonalds in Bursow, we finally made it to our nice and quaint lodging at Hotel Raluca.  We were greeted by a pack of adorable dogs and I finally felt like myself again after a hot shower and a bed, and of course, much playtime with the doggies:)
